GCC BDI launches Riyadh Membership Chapter Move aimed at fostering robust professional network for GCC BDI members

Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – June 20, 2023 - The GCC Board Directors Institute (GCC BDI), a non-profit organisation dedicated to equipping board directors with the knowledge and resources to achieve and maintain effective corporate governance, proudly announced the launch of its Riyadh Membership Chapter on 15 June. This momentous occasion was made possible through the generous sponsorship of PwC Middle East. The establishment of the Riyadh Chapter signifies a major milestone in the Institute's dedication to cultivating strong business relationships within the Kingdom and providing a thriving professional network for its esteemed members.

The Riyadh Membership Chapter aims to provide a platform for GCC BDI members in Saudi Arabia to connect, collaborate, and expand their professional networks. By leveraging the vast knowledge and experience within the Institute, the chapter seeks to create a conducive environment that fosters engagement, knowledge sharing, and business growth within the local business community.

Mutlaq Al Morished, CEO of Tasnee and GCC BDI Governor, warmly welcomed attendees at the exclusive event, which was held exclusively for GCC BDI members. The launch event also featured a presentation on "Building a Sustainable Future" by Dr. Shihab Elborai, Partner with Strategy& Middle East, part of the PwC network. Dr. Shihab shared insights on the energy transition and the deployment of renewable energy sources, emphasising the importance of sustainability and innovation in driving economic development using the entire resource endowment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The event witnessed a remarkable turnout, with over 135 attendees from various sectors and industries. The diverse representation demonstrated the eagerness of GCC BDI members to actively participate in building a strong and collaborative professional network within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Riyadh Membership Chapter will serve as a hub for exchanging ideas, fostering partnerships, and accessing exclusive opportunities for growth and development. Through a series of networking events, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions, members will have the chance to connect with industry experts, thought leaders, and potential collaborators.

Coinciding with the launch of the Chapter, GCC BDI also announced that it has received the ‘Best Corporate Governance Institute UAE 2023’ Award by the International Business Magazine, reinforcing its commitment to excellence to promote the highest professional standards of corporate governance through capacity building, advocacy, and governance practices.
