ABU DHABI AIRPORTS COMPANY PJSC (ADAC), UAE (www.adac.ae) -  2011

GROUP CFO

CFO for one of Abu Dhabi’s 21 first tier state owned enterprises comprising of a diverse portfolio of five airports and 6 service divisions (Ground Handling, In-Flight Catering, Retail/ Duty Free, Cargo, Hospitality and Real Estate), generating more than USD 1 billion in annual revenues.

ADAC is undertaking a USD 11 billion capital expansion program and employs approx. 5,800 staff.

·         Jointly with the CEO developed new organization structure and restructuring plan.

·         Led high-level negotiations with Abu Dhabi’s national airline ETIHAD regarding the divestment of ADAC’s Cargo, Catering and Ground                      Handling businesses.

·         Revised development strategy for ADAC’s 80 square kilometer land bank.

CFO for one of Saudi Arabia’s top Tadawul listed companies, scaling up to deliver more than USD 100 billion in infrastructure and real estate investments.

Member of the company’s 4 member Executive Committee (Managing Board) with direct responsibility for Investor Relations, Accounting, Reporting, Contr., Disclosure, Treasury, Project Finance, M&A, Investments, Legal, Procurement and IT. Full commercial responsibility for EEC’s Real Estate, Port, Utilities, Industrial Park, Healthcare, Education, Hospitality, Retail and Smart City businesses.

·         Successful restructuring of approx. USD 1 billion unfunded EEC liabilities mainly resulting from the direct impact of the 2008 financial crisis            on the company.

·         Raising of USD 1.3 billion government debt.

Full P & L accountability for all segments for one of Siemens AG’s top 20 international operations, consisting of 5 group companies generating USD 1.3 billion in annual revenues through its 1,500 staff workforce. Jointly manage operations with organization’s CEO. Provide leadership to team of 15 managers responsible for accounting, reporting and controlling, treasury activities, information technology, corporate communications, procurement, logistics, exporting, real estate, legal, internal audit and compliance in competition functions.

Restructuring of key positions (Divisional CEOs and CFOs, Heads of Corporate Departments), resulting in significant performance improvements. Increasing order intake by 27% and elevating profits by 29% over budget through successful implementation of Key Account Mgmt. and Project Mgmt. programs.

Managing Board position with Moscow-based USD 100 million IT solutions and systems integration provider.

·         Acquired and integrated loss making 150 staff St. Petersburg based e-Business services company and led creative turnaround strategy                      enabling return to profitability within 12 months.

·         Secured 70 man years (USD 4 million) off-shore development contract with SAP AG, Germany.

·         Set up profitable SAP consulting practice within 18 months.

 

DIRECTOR IT & CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

Tasked with leading team of 37 IT professionals in delivering end-to-end telecommunication and IT services for Siemens Russia. Responsibilities included IT and telecommunication systems road mapping, architecture, infrastructure development, information security, data center and networks operations, business process reengineering, applications management and IT user support. Managed USD 3 million annual IT project budgets.

·         Delivered full-scale SAP R/3 implementation within deadline and budget.

·         Generated USD 1 million in annual cost savings.
