Bassam Asiri

Governor

Bassam Asiri is the Controller at Saudi Aramco. He is responsible for the issuance of Saudi Aramco’s Group Financials and ensures proper control and governance over the capital programs, major contracts and international and local sales for hydrocarbon products. He has held several leadership roles within the company, including General Manager of Transaction Development (M&A) within new business development, responsible for executing joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and divestitures transactions; Head of Organization Planning & Performance Management Department, responsible for developing short and mid-term business plan; as well as managing and reporting organizational, operational and financial performance. He started his career as an electrical engineer in different operational facilities and led the Engineering, Maintenance & Operations departments in multiple Upstream & Downstream oil & gas facilities. Bassam has a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), and an MBA from the University of Southern Queensland in Australia. He completed the Executive Management Development Program from INSEAD University. He is a board member of three Saudi Aramco affiliates and chairman of the audit committees of these companies.
